Experienced in business sales, purchasing, and distribution, Mohsen Motamedian served as the manager of Bashari Inc for more than a decade before he joined the information technology and distribution company USA. Mohsen “Max” Motamedian gives back by supporting the Autism Society of America. The Autism Society of America is committed to improving the lives of people with autism by promoting programs that raise awareness and support education and inclusion. One of the ways the Society embodies its mission is by sponsoring sensory-friendly films in partnership with AMC Theatres, a leading movie theater chain. The Sensory Friendly Films program offers people with autism and their families and friends a safe and comfortable place to watch movies. Various family-friendly films are shown every second and fourth Saturday of the month, while Tuesday evenings are dedicated to mature audiences. During the movies, the lights are dimmed but still on and the sound is turned down slightly. The audience members can talk, walk around, sing, and dance without worrying about anyone complaining. Additionally, audience members are welcome to bring snacks from home to meet their special dietary needs. Mohsen Motamedian is the founder of Total NutriCare, a provider of nutritional supplements and vitamins. Outside of work, Mohsen Motamedian contributes to the Autism Society, an organization dedicated to increasing awareness and decreasing stigmas associated with autism. With National Autism Awareness month fast approaching in April, there are many ways to get involved. Below are descriptions of some ways to get involved in autism awareness. One way interested parties can increase autism awareness is to wear the Autism Awareness Puzzle Ribbon, which is widely recognized as a symbol of support for autism. Another way people can get involved is to contact state and federal representatives and ask them to vote for autism, or "Vote 4 Autism.” The Vote 4 Autism campaign is an advocacy campaign to support autism-related legislation. One last way to get involved at the community level is to hold a special event during the month of April. Interested parties can learn more about what kinds of events are appropriate via 1Power4Autism, which is an online platform that helps people plan autism-related events.
