New GoPro Max Expands on the Fusion 360 Camera Legacy

A recent addition to the company’s lineup is the easy-to-use GoPro Max, which builds on 2017’s Fusion, the first 360 GoPro camera. More compact and uncluttered than the Fusion, the Max stands as a hybrid that can be operated the same as a lower resolution GoPro Hero when in “Hero” mode. In 360 mode, the camera’s spherical footage offers flexible reframing in post, with pan, tilt, zoom, and other director’s effects added.

Despite its small size, the GoPro Max offers a built-in touchscreen for previewing footage and controlling the camera. Its offset lens design is taken from the Fusion and enables better stitching of the two hemispheres. This is now accomplished in-camera rather than in post, as was the case with the Fusion.
